Experience the royal grandeur of Rajasthan where you will be spell-bound by regal palaces, majestic forts, intricate designs and frescoes of haveli mansions as well as mesmerized by the barren desert, beautiful lakes and temples. The Rajasthan program takes you to a number of destinations within the princely state that capture the rich heritage of the bygone era of the Maharajas and Maharanis.

The tour takes you to Jaipur, Mandawa, Bikaner & Jaisalmer.

Day 01: Arrival in Delhi

On your arrival at Delhi International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative who will assist you to transfer to your hotel.

Check in hotel and overnight stay in Delhi.

 

Day 02: Delhi to Jaipur and visit the Anokhi Museum of Hand Block Printing (5 hours’ drive) (B)

Morning breakfast at the hotel, and post breakfast check out from the hotel. We shall drive to Jaipur also known as “Pink City”. Upon arrival in Jaipur, check in at the hotel.

Jaipur was established by Maharaja Jai Singh II (1693-1743) and painted pink by Maharaja Man Singh II when Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII, visited Jaipur in 1876. The royal heritage of Jaipur lives in its architecture and culture. The “Pink City” is symbolic of the hospitality that reigns in the Rajput culture.

After freshening up, visit the Anokhi Museum of Hand Block Printing, a museum that exhibits the oldest art form of Rajasthani art at its very best. Located along the cobble-stoned bylanes just a kilometre outside of Amer Fort, the museum-cum-gallery is dedicated to hand block printing, an art form specific to the region and the oldest.

Day 03: Tour of Amer Fort, Panna Meena Kund Stepwells, Jantar Mantar, City Palace (B)

Morning breakfast at hotel and we shall have a tour of Jaipur city today with the first stop visiting Amer Fort.

En route to Amer Fort, stop by the façade of the famous Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds). Then, continue to Amer Fort, drive up to its entrance on a jeep and explore the various mahals (palaces) in the fort. Later, visit Panna Meena Kund stepwells; Jantar Mantar, the largest stone observatory in the world; and the City Palace.

Day 04: Jaipur – Mandawa (4 hours’ drive) and heritage walking tour of Mandawa havelis (B)

Morning breakfast at the hotel, and post breakfast check out from the hotel. Then, proceed to drive to Mandawa, a remote feudal principality in the centre of the Shekhawati region. Upon arrival in Mandawa, check in at hotel.

After lunch, go on a heritage walking tour of the town to visit havelis and explore beautiful Shekhawati paintings and frescoes inside and outside of havelis.

Day 05: Mandawa to Bikaner (4 hours’ drive) (B)

Morning breakfast at the hotel and post breakfast, check out from the hotel. Proceed with drive to Bikaner.

Located close to the border with Pakistan, Bikaner is a city in Rajasthan surrounded by the Thar Desert. Bikaner is a bit of an underdog compared to all the other touristic jewels that Rajasthan offers (examples: Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer) but it does have architectural wonders and culturally rich history.

Upon arrival in Bikaner, check in at hotel. After lunch, enjoy your tour of the 16th century Junagarh Fort.

Day 06: Early morning heritage walking tour and drive to Jaisalmer (6 hours’ drive) (B)

Enjoy an early morning heritage walking tour of the Rampuria Havelis in the old quarter of Bikaner. Post walking tour, return to the hotel for breakfast and then check out from the hotel, after which we shall drive to Jaisalmer.

Upon arrival in Jaisalmer in the evening, check in and overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 07: Self-exploration of Jaisalmer Fort (B)

Morning breakfast at the hotel and then, transfer to Jaisalmer Fort for your self-exploration of the fort. Get lost in the honeycombed buildings of the fort and explore its ancient market streets and colourful bazaars. Additionally, visit Patwa Havelis and Jain and Lakshminath temples in the fort.

Optional: 1-hour camel safari experience on the sand dunes in the evening (sunset). Sand dunes are situated approximately 40kms from Jaisalmer city. And if you wish to experience camel safari + glamping, then an extra night in Jaisalmer is recommended.

Day 08: Jaisalmer – Delhi flight and onward departure for Kuala Lumpur (B)

Morning breakfast at hotel and post breakfast check out from hotel in time for transfer to airport for flight to Delhi. Upon arrival at Delhi domestic terminal, transfer to hotel for day use to freshen up before evening flight.

In the evening, proceed for departure transfer to Delhi International Airport to board flight for onward journey home.
