Explore historical grounds of palaces, quadrangles, courtyards, ancient temples and spectacular stupas in Kathmandu Valley. See the strikingly, impressive traditional Newari architecture of carved wooden windows and balconies and timeless stone carvings of Hindu and Tibetan deities.
This tour covers sights (stupas, temples, ancient quadrangles) in Kathmandu as well as historical cities within a short distance from the capital. You may also extend this tour to cover tropical jungles such as Chitwan National Park or to experience short hiking trips in the surrounding villages of the valley. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
You will be greeted by panoramic views of snow-capped mountain peaks sprawling down below once you fly into the skies of Kathmandu. You’ll be greeted by a representative of our Kathmandu travel associate at Tribhuvan International Airport who will escort you to your hotel and help to check in.
Overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Sightseeing tour of Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath & Kathmandu Durbar Square (B)
After breakfast, we move to the heritage sites in Kathmandu city.
We visit Pashupatinath Temple, the most popular Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, and is also the place where cremation is done by riverside of the holy river Bagmati.
We then take a short drive to Swayambhunath or Monkey Temple. "Swoyambhu" means "self-created" and refers to the belief that the hill emerged spontaneously from the great lake that once covered Kathmandu Valley.
We will also visit Kathmandu Durbar Square or Basantapur Durbar Square. Listed as a cultural World Heritage site by UNESCO, Kathmandu Durbar Square is a cluster of ancient temples, palaces, courtyards and streets that dates back to 12th - 18th centuries.

Day 03: Sightseeing tour of Bhaktapur, Changunarayan and Patan Durbar Square (B)
Located 12 km south-east of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur showcases the splendour of the Golden Age of Nepali art and architecture. Built by King Anand Dev Malla in the 9th century, the city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site 1979. It has remained a model for heritage conservation since then.
At Bhaktapur Durbar Square, you will find many fine examples of sculpture, woodcarving, and pagodas dedicated to different gods and goddesses – the Nyatapol & Dattaraya Temples, Golden Gate, Palace of 55 windows etc.
From Bhaktapur, we will proceed to Patan Durbar Square, one of the three medieval cities in Kathmandu. Patan is a destination for fine arts, and here you’ll see the Patan Museum (originally a Malla palace), Krishna Mandir- a stone temple of Lord Krishna with its 21 spires and bas-relief art depicting scenes from the Mahabharata and Ramayana epics, Royal Bath or 'Tushahity', and other Hindu and Buddhist temples in the square.
In the evening, you will be transferred back to the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 04: Sightseeing tour of Boudhanath and rest of the day at leisure (B)
After breakfast, we will visit Boudhanath, a Buddhist shrine which is one of the largest stupas in the world. It is also one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimages.
The rest of the day is at leisure. You walk around and shop in Thamel or visit the Garden of Dreams, both are located within walking distance from your hotel.
Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 05: Transfer to International Airport for departure flight to Kuala Lumpur
Proceed for departure transfer to the airport for onward journey home.
